Experimental studies on generation and using of microsecond E-beams with the energy content up to 0.4MJ are described in the paper. Peculiarities of using such beams for a dense plasma heating in long solenoids and for microwave power generation at 4mm wavelength are discussed. Parameters of the beams and technical solutions suitable for these applications are determined.
