Calculations of the charge-particles stopping power and photon opacities in dense plasmas are reported. The method used is based on the average atom model but includes the collective free-free contribution in the case of the stopping power and the broadening due to fluctuations in the case of opacities. Some numerical results for gold plasma are given.
