DTRA’s advancements in nuclear and radiological detection
A new, more complex nuclear age has begun. Echoing the tensions of the Cold War amid rapidly evolving nuclear and radiological threats, preparedness in the modern age is a contest of scientific innovation. For computer simulation of plasma under thermonuclear conditions, alpha-particle transport models must be included in the predictive codes. Self-consistent transport models are not yet available; thus, semiempirical transport models developed for main ion transport have been used for alpha-particle transport simulations. The calculation method and results are presented.
