This study considers variations in a basic deuterium-burning target design (AFLINT) that modify the output energy split among neutrons, X-rays, and charged particles. Use of a liquid metal MHD cycle to extract energy from a twin-fall reaction chamber (LOTRIT) that uses these targets is also described.
