ANS is committed to advancing, fostering, and promoting the development and application of nuclear sciences and technologies to benefit society.
Explore the many uses for nuclear science and its impact on energy, the environment, healthcare, food, and more.
Division Spotlight
Thermal Hydraulics
The division provides a forum for focused technical dialogue on thermal hydraulic technology in the nuclear industry. Specifically, this will include heat transfer and fluid mechanics involved in the utilization of nuclear energy. It is intended to attract the highest quality of theoretical and experimental work to ANS, including research on basic phenomena and application to nuclear system design.

Hydrogen diffusivity and solubility in Inconel 600 were determined with a gas-absorption method using tritiated hydrogen gas in a temperature range from 573 K to 973 K. The temperature dependence of diffusivity D and solubility S were obtained as,D (cm2s−1) = 1.3 x 10−2 exp(−50.6/(RT / kJ)),S (cm3(NTP)cm−3Pa−0.5) = 4.7 x 10−3 exp(−11.7 /(RT / kJ)).
