Fuel Cycle & Waste Management
Devoted to all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle including waste management, worldwide. Division specific areas of interest and involvement include uranium conversion and enrichment; fuel fabrication, management (in-core and ex-core) and recycle; transportation; safeguards; high-level, low-level and mixed waste management and disposal; public policy and program management; decontamination and decommissioning environmental restoration; and excess weapons materials disposition.

NextGen MURR Working Group established in Missouri
The University of Missouri’s Board of Curators has created the NextGen MURR Working Group to serve as a strategic advisory body for the development of the NextGen MURR (University of Missouri Research Reactor).
The nomination period for the 2025 Nuclear News 40 Under 40 list is now open. The list aims to highlight those who are putting in the work to become leaders in the nuclear community. All nominations must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. (CST) on April 30, 2025.
Nominees must be 39 years old or younger and must be current members of ANS through December 31, 2025. Candidates can be nominated either by their workplace or institution or by a fellow ANS member and should have at least one letter of recommendation.
All nominees will be evaluated by NN staff on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the following: technical achievements, professional achievements, leadership and impact.
Finally, nominees who were included in the 2024 40 under 40 list are not eligible for the 2025 40 under 40 list.
