Hanford places first vitrified waste canisters in disposal cell
Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management announced that it has begun the permanent disposal of the first containers of vitrified low-level radioactive tank waste at the Hanford Site near Richland, Wash., marking a pivotal step in the nation’s radioactive tank waste cleanup mission.
Sulzer has a network of manufacturing facilities and service centers across North America, all available to serve the power generation industry. The Sulzer Nuclear Service Center (SNSC) in Chattanooga, TN has an audited and approved quality program which meets 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR50 Part 21 requirements. This facility also holds N-stamp and NPT-stamp Certificates of Authorization for ASME Section III Classes 1, 2 and 3. The SNSC offers on site pump testing to validate pump performance.
