ANS and the U.K.’s NI announce reciprocal membership agreement
With President Trump on a state visit to the U.K., in part to sign a landmark new agreement on U.S.-U.K. nuclear collaboration, a flurry of transatlantic partnerships and deals bridging the countries’ nuclear sectors have been announced.
The American Nuclear Society is taking an active role in this bridge-building by forming a reciprocal membership agreement with the U.K.’s Nuclear Institute.

With global investment in fusion research reaching new highs, the fusion industry is entering a new era of innovation. Key challenges facing fusion today include technological hurdles, regulatory frameworks, and workforce development. This panel will examine the progress towards commercially viable fusion as well as the collaborations between private companies, national laboratories and universities which are essential in the path forward for scaling fusion to meet global energy needs. Industry and academic experts will discuss recent breakthroughs, current challenges, and the role of fusion in a low-carbon future.
