Dr. Vincent Lamirand

Program manager of experimental research, Deputy Head of LRS nuclear facilities Laboratory for Reactor Physics and Systems Behaviour (LRS) EPFL and Paul Scherrer Institute (since 2016)

• In 2011, he obtained his PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University Joseph Fourier in Grenoble (France), which he carried out at the French Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety Institute (IRSN, France) on the determination of (p,n) cross sections of reactions for neutron metrology.
• He carried out a postdoctoral fellowship at the EOLE-MINERVE reactor facility at CEA Cadarache (France) on the development of fission chambers.
• Since 2014, he has been Program manager for experimental research and Deputy Head of nuclear facilities at the Laboratory for Reactor Physics and Systems behaviour (LRS) at EPFL (Switzerland), and in particular for the relaunch of research activities in the CROCUS zero power reactor.
• He defended his tenure at the Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland) in 2020.
• He has over 15 years of experience in neutron and gamma physics experiments, focusing on nuclear reactions, neutron detection, small accelerator and reactor experiments.
