Securing the advanced reactor fleet
Physical protection accounts for a significant portion of a nuclear power plant’s operational costs. As the U.S. moves toward smaller and safer advanced reactors, similar protection strategies could prove cost prohibitive. For tomorrow’s small modular reactors and microreactors, security costs must remain appropriate to the size of the reactor for economical operation.
The American Nuclear Society is the product of its membership and communities, one of which cannot exist without the other. Communities allow ANS members to amplify their research, networks, ideas, relationships, themselves, and many other important facets of an ANS member’s life.
Professional Divisions
Specialized technical and working groups that allow members to pursue connections and advancement within unique areas of study or work.
Local Sections/Plant Branches
Local organizations that allow members to interact with other members and learn about relevant issues in their region.
Student Sections
University-based organizations that open the doors of membership to the next generation of ANS members and helps them prepare for their futures.
Please send all information updates and/or additions regarding Professional Divisions, Local Sections, Student Sections, or Plant Branches to Governance Services.
