Details: The event is being produced in collaboration with Curtiss-Wright, a Davidson, N.C.–based engineering and manufacturing company that provides a wide variety of products to the nuclear, aerospace, and defense industries.
The presentation will dive deep into the digital technologies currently transforming commercial nuclear power uprates. In particular, the speakers will focus on data validation and reconciliation (DVR), a technology approved for measurement uncertainty recapture (MUR) uprates, and demonstrate how it improves data accuracy and supports uprate justification.
Also on the agenda is coverage of the best practices for using PEPSE, the industry-standard plant modeling and simulation software, to perform power uprate studies and assess plant performance impacts.
The speakers: Derek Horn and Greg Alder will lead the discussion. Horn is the senior manager of business development at Curtiss-Wright. He has experience in a variety of power industries, including nuclear, and has a strong focus on areas such as online performance monitoring, DVR, PEPSE modeling, cycle isolation, and life cycle management.
Alder is the manager of plant optimization at Curtiss-Wright, a role he has held since 2013. Previously, he was a senior consultant at both True North Consulting and Scientech.
