DOE issues draft RFP for Portsmouth/Paducah support services contract

The Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management has issued a draft request for proposal for technical support services contract for the Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO), which manages the department’s cleanup efforts at the two gaseous diffusion plant sites in Ohio and Kentucky.

The draft RFP is meant to solicit questions and comments from all interested parties and to assist the DOE in developing a final RFP for the contract procurement. Written comments regarding the draft RFP can be submitted until January 16.

The scope: The PPPO technical support services contractor will provide technical and administrative support to assist the DOE with the oversight and management of cleanup and decontamination and decommissioning activities; depleted uranium hexafluoride operations; all aspects of on-site contractor operations, including general construction activities and On-Site Waste Disposal Facility project–related investigative and construction activities, geotechnical and design documents, and regulatory compliance activities at the Portsmouth and Paducah sites and PPPO’s offices in Lexington, Ky.; and to provide various technical engineering support functions, high quality and reliable information technology infrastructure and cyber security support, safeguards and security oversight support, and general administrative support for all of the PPPO sites.

The contract will be conducted as a Small Business Set-Aside Competition for businesses with fewer than 1,000 employees.
