The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a webinar on June 23 to discuss Holtec International’s license application to build and operate a consolidated interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel and greater-than-Class C waste in southeastern New Mexico.

The NRC is using the webinar to present to the public the findings of its draft environmental impact statement for the interim storage facility and to accept comments on the report. The draft EIS was published with a notice in the March 20 Federal Register, and the NRC is accepting comments on its environmental review of the Holtec facility until July 22.

The details: The webinar will be held on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (EDT) through the NRC's WebEx Meeting (event No. 199 800 0026, password HOLTEC). The public can also provide comments by phone during the meeting by calling 888/454–7496, with the participant passcode 5790355.
