ANS members re-elected to NEI board of directors

American Nuclear Society members Mark T. Peters, Kenneth W. Robuck, and Thomas R. White were reelected to the Nuclear Energy Institute’s board of directors during its May 20 meeting. The board is composed of executives from companies that hold licenses to operate nuclear energy facilities and selected representatives of other organizations involved in commercial nuclear technologies. Members of the executive committee and the board’s non-utility members typically serve three-year terms, and officers are elected annually.

White

Who they are: Peters, ANS fellow and member since 2007, is director of Idaho National Laboratory. He also serves as a senior adviser to the Department of Energy on nuclear energy technologies, research and development programs, and nuclear waste policy. Robuck, ANS member since 2006, is president and chief operating officer of EnergySolutions. White, ANS member since 2013, is chairman, president, and CEO of Sargent & Lundy.

The others: The board also elected four new members and reelected six others. The new members are Paul Chodak III, executive vice president of generation at American Electric Power; David A. Howell, president of Americas Operating Plant Services at Westinghouse Electric Company; Martin J. Lyons, president of Ameren Missouri; and J. Clay Sell, CEO of X-energy.

Chodak and Howell were named to the executive committee, joining the following reelected members: W. Paul Bowers, chairman, president, and CEO of Georgia Power; Thomas P. D’Agostino, group president, government of Fluor Corporation; Ben Fowke, chairman and CEO of Xcel Energy; John L. Hopkins, chairman and CEO of NuScale Power; Gary M. Mignogna, president and CEO of Framatome Inc., and Barbara Rusinko, president for security and environmental at Bechtel Nuclear.

Five others were reelected to the board of directors. They are Michael P. Cass, president and CEO of American Nuclear Insurers; Greg J. Hempfling, senior vice president and general manager at Curtiss-Wright; Michael P. McMahon, president of Day & Zimmermann; Mark McManus, general president of United Association; and Kathryn M. Sutton, partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.
