TriArtisan, a New York–based middle-market private equity investing firm, purchased ownership interest in EnergySolutions from ECP in 2022. ECP became the majority owner of EnergySolutions in 2013, and sold minority ownership interest to TriArtisan in 2018.
Market growth: ECP said its decision to acquire EnergySolutions again comes at a time of transformational change for the nuclear sector, with growing demand for reliable baseload power.
“We’ve stayed connected with EnergySolutions and its leadership since we exited our previous investment, and we’ve been impressed by what the team has continued to accomplish,” said Drew Brown, partner at ECP.
With headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Charlotte, N.C., EnergySolutions provides services across the nuclear fuel life cycle, including the transportation, processing, recycling, and disposal of radiological material. According to EnergySolutions, the company has seen significant growth under TriArtisan’s ownership.
Quote: Ken Robuck, president and CEO at EnergySolutions, said, “Over the past several years, we have broadened our offerings across the nuclear sector and strengthened our ability to deliver integrated solutions for customers. We believe this transaction will accelerate our long-term strategy and growth.”
