Mirion Technologies has announced three senior leadership appointments designed to support its global nuclear and medical businesses while advancing a company-wide digital and AI strategy. The leadership changes come as Mirion seeks to advance innovation and maintain strong performance in nuclear energy, radiation safety, and medical applications.

Smith

Tighe Smith has been promoted to the newly created position of chief nuclear officer, where he will guide Mirion’s nuclear strategy across the operating reactor fleet and emerging advanced and small modular reactor markets. Smith previously served as chief nuclear officer at Paragon Energy Solutions prior to its acquisition by Mirion; he brings more than two decades of experience in nuclear engineering, digital safety systems, and industry standards development.

Webb

Shelia Webb was named Mirion’s president of nuclear medicine, a role focused on expanding the company’s presence in cancer-care technologies. She assumed leadership of ec2 software following its 2023 acquisition by the company and has since overseen its incorporation into Mirion’s broader medical portfolio.

Mirza

Shahmeer Mirza was appointed Mirion’s first chief artificial intelligence and digital officer. Mirza will lead efforts to deploy advanced analytics, machine learning, and intelligent automation across the company’s global operations.

Paragon acquisition: Last fall, Mirion announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Paragon Energy Solutions. At the time, Mirion chair and CEO Thomas D. Logan said, “The complementary capabilities of Mirion and Paragon will provide nuclear power customers with a more comprehensive suite of product offerings and services to meet their growing needs.” Mirion purchased Paragon, based in Fort Worth, Texas, from Windjammer Capital Investors for approximately $585 million.
