ANS Special Committee Presents New State Tools

The ANS Special Committee on Nuclear in the States presented the newest tools created for state policymakers during the annual International Conference on Advances in Power Plants (ICAPP) on April 19.

Committee co-chair Donald R. Hoffman presented "The U.S.Without Nuclear Energy; A Report on the Public Impact of Plant Closures" explaining the focus of the report is to demonstrate the need to retain the existing nuclear fleet as a source of producing clean energy.

Special committee members Daniel Curtis and Nicholas Thompson also presented state scenario infographics for California, Massachusettes and New York during the briefing illustrating the states' specific energy situations and what a key role nuclear energy plays in reducing emissions to maintain a healthy environment.
