ANS YMG Celebrates 10 Years

In recognition of 10 full years of growth and outreach,the American Nuclear Society Young Members Group (YMG) held a 10th anniversary celebration on November 8 during the ANS Winter Meeting in Las Vegas.

YMG Chair Brett Rampal said, "In the long-term, the YMG is trying to ramp up its involvement in national meetings with more sessions and panels, and we are working hard on planning the next Young Professionals Congress, to take place in November 2017 in conjunction with the ANS Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C.”

YMG is made up of the best and brightest next generation nuclear engineers and nuclear professionals in the world, and Young Members include industry (vendors, utilities, etc) representatives to national laboratory, government staff, and scientists to nuclear academics and graduate students.

The group was first established  in 2005 as a technical group that began with 795 members and today has nearly 2,400 members.
