ANS Sends Letter of Support for Advanced Nuclear Legislation

The American Nuclear Society sent a letter of support to the U.S. Senate in support of S. 2795, the Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act, urging passage of the bill to assist in the development of advanced nuclear reactor technologies by modernizing the licensing regime, and to support private investment in advanced reactor technologies.

The letter was sent in April by ANS President Eugene S. Grecheck in which he states, “The U.S. must recommit itself to improving its advanced reactor technology portfolio in order to ensure future access to abundant clean energy and to maintain its influence over global nuclear safety and nonproliferation norms.”
