Gene Grecheck Visits Wilmington Local Section

The Wilmington Local Section of the American Nuclear Society hosted a dinner with ANS President Gene Grecheck on February 23 as part of Engineers Week.

Mr. Grecheck spoke to the attendees about the current state of the energy industry and its interaction with climate change, the strengths of nuclear, and the challenges the nuclear industry faces. He discussed how ANS has advanced the role of nuclear in the climate change discussion, and finished with a challenge to the audience to renew a focus on technology and innovation to move the industry forward.

The successful event included participants from GE Hitachi, Duke-Brunswick, ASCE, ASME, and more. Duke Energy graciously sponsored a portion of the meeting.
