Nuclear For Climate - A Global Effort

Nuclear for Climate

The American Nuclear Society recently joined forces with the French Nuclear Society (sfen.org) and the European Nuclear Society (euronuclear.org) to form a global alliance of nuclear societies in support of a communication initiative called Nuclear for Climate. The initiative was conceived by SFEN to improve awareness, particularly among world leaders, of the important role of nuclear energy in lowering carbon emissions.

ANS President Dr. Michaele Brady Raap will be joining the presidents of nuclear organizations from around the world in presenting a joint declaration about the contributions of nuclear as part of the solution to climate change at the International Conference on Advances in Nuclear Power Plants (ICAPP) in Nice, France in May 2015.

Information about the organizations participating in Nuclear for Climate, as well as other resources about nuclear-related items, can be found on the Center for Nuclear Science and Technology Information.
