Mishima Award Presented to Tatsuo Shikama

Award to be presented at the 2014 ANS Annual Meeting in Reno, NV

Tatsuo Shikama has been recognized with the 2014 Mishima Award from the American Nuclear Society (ANS).

Professor Shikama of Tokuko University has been given the honor for his sustained and impactful contributions to the field of irradiation materials science and his leadership and guidance of the next generation of researchers.

Professor Shikama received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering and M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He will be recognized with the award at the 2014 ANS Annual Meeting, which will be held in Reno, NV from June 15-19, 2014.

Established in 1991, this award honors the late Yoshitsugu Mishima, professor at the University of Tokyo. The award recognizes outstanding contributions in research and development work on nuclear fuel and materials.
