The Special Committee on Nuclear Non-Proliferation is charged with the furtherance of the ANS' mission to promote the development and use of nuclear science and technology for peaceful purposes.
The committee objectives are:
- To provide information to ANS members to enhance their ability to improve the public and policymakers' understanding of nonproliferation issues.
- To provide nonproliferation information to existing ANS communications programs for opinion leaders and decision-makers.
- To make information on nonproliferation issues available to the technical community.
- To become a technical resource on nuclear nonproliferation issues for the non-technical and policy communities.
