SUMMARY:Consensus Standards For Radioisotope Heat And Power Sources Workshop: The Key To Industry Innovation And Success (SOLD OUT)
DESCRIPTION:Workshops\n\nNuclear and Emerging Technologies for Space (NETS 2026)\n\nRead More: https://www.ans.org/meetings/nets2026/calendar/event-2138/\n\n
Price: $49

Capacity: 40 participants

Take part in a workshop convening space nuclear leaders to shape the success of commercial space radioisotope power systems (RPS) by taking the first step toward developing industry-led consensus standards for testing and qualification of radioisotope heat sources.

Engage in discussions about current standards, gaps, and the crucial role of industry in creating a successful safety standards framework. During this three-hour session, we will collaborate on a roadmap for an industry-developed standard to drive innovation, ensure safety, and pave the way for qualifying new radioisotope heat and power source designs for space missions.

The workshop will be facilitated by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Drawing on diverse technical, regulatory, and policy expertise and capabilities from across the laboratory, PNNL leads creative and multidisciplinary teams that are developing solutions for complex, rapidly evolving space challenges. Founded in 1965, PNNL is managed and operated by the Battelle Memorial Institute for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science.

Points of Contact:
Catrina Melograna
catrina.melograna@pnnl.gov
(509) 372-7747

David Koch
david.koch@pnnl.gov
(509) 372-6871
