SUMMARY:Cyclus Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Workshops\n\nGlobal 2026\n\nRead More: https://www.ans.org/meetings/global2026/calendar/event-2156/\n\n

Cost: $49

Limited Capacity

The nuclear fuel cycle is a hot-button issue for deploying reactor technology right now. We can help address fuel cycle research by modeling fuel cycle options in nuclear fuel cycle simulators, with Cyclus being one of the most commonly used simulators in the US. Cyclus is an agent-based, open-source fuel cycle simulator used by multiple universities and national laboratories to perform cutting-edge fuel cycle research. Current and previous research with Cyclus includes modeling fuel cycle transitions based on the 2014 Evaluation & Screening Report, assess fuel cycle costs and economics, and evaluate high-assay low-enriched uranium demand.

This workshop will be a hands-on experience on how to use Cyclus, taught by some of the led developers. The workshop will discuss topics such as the fundamental concepts of Cyclus, input file structures, running Cyclus, post-processing methods, and the Cyclus community. You'll walk away from this workshop being a beginner-level user and maybe some ideas on how you can use Cyclus for your work.
