Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Nuclear Engineering

The Unit of Nuclear Engineering at BGU is Israel’s leading nuclear engineering department. It is part of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and is home to an active and diverse academic community. Our department engages in various nuclear science and engineering research areas, including reactor physics, radiation detection, nuclear materials, fuel cycle technologies, and advanced computational methods. Position description:

We seek outstanding candidates with demonstrated potential for excellence in research, academic leadership, and teaching. Candidates from all areas of nuclear science and engineering will be considered, including but not limited to:

• Advanced reactor physics, engineering, and design (SMRs, microreactors, Gen-IV systems)
• Radiation detection, safeguards, nuclear security, and nonproliferation
• Nuclear materials and fuels, including fuel cycle science and nuclear waste management
• Nuclear thermal-hydraulics and safety
• Plasma physics and fusion energy
• Radiobiology, medical physics, and applications of nuclear science in medicine
• Computational methods, high-performance computing, and AI/ML in nuclear science
