DOE schedules hearing on Yucca Mountain EIS ANS members are encouraged to circulate the following information among colleagues. Anyone who can attend, may use the talking points, ANS Officers have approved and used to discuss this issue. Notice from DOE The US Dept of Energy's Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Office is hosting public hearings to accept public comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for a Proposed Repository at Yucca Mountain, NV. The first hour of each hearing will include a brief overview of the Draft EIS and a question and answer session. The remainder of the hearing will be reserved for public comment. The public may schedule a time to provide oral comments by calling 1-800-967-3477 or register at the hearing. If you are unable to attend this public hearing, write, fax, or e-mail your comments by February 9,2000 to Ms. Wendy R.
