New Survey Finds Bipartisan Support for the Paris Agreement

Tracy Marc|

A new survey conducted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs found that over 70 percent of Americans (including 57 percent of Republicans, 87 percent of Democrats, and 68 percent of Independents) support the participation of the United States in the Paris Agreement that collectively declares countries to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases.

The U.S. is one of 193 countries who signed onto the agreement in which President-elect Donald Trump declared that he would cancel U.S. participation in the international agreement during his campaign.

The American Nuclear Society attended the COP21 meeting in Paris last year to support the inclusion of nuclear energy into the energy mix for countries as they develop their strategies to reduce GHG.
