ANS Hosts NRC Chairman Roundtable Discussion

The American Nuclear Society hosted a Nuclear Bloggers' Roundtable discussion with Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Allison Macfarlane on September 11, resulting in a lively, unscripted Q&A on a wide range of nuclear issues.

Margaret Harding, ANS Treasurer, moderated the conversation between approximately 15 blog authors and Chairman Macfarlane. Questions from the writers dealt with the preparations for licensing of small modular reactors, radiation regulation in light of challenges to the linear no-threshold model, rulemaking concerning post-Fukushima safety enhancements, and other topics.
