Rizwan Uddin Named ANS Fellow

Honoree to be recognized at the 2014 ANS Annual Meeting in Reno, NV

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) has named Rizwan Uddin as a Fellow of ANS for outstanding accomplishment in nuclear science and engineering.

Dr. Uddin is recognized for his research contributions in the areas of two-phase flow and BWR stability, and is considered a pioneer in the development and use of 3D immersive, virtual reality systems for education and training in the nuclear field.  

Dr. Uddin is currently a Professor and Associate Head of Academic Programs at the Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering and his M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He will be recognized with the award at the 2014 ANS Annual Meeting, which will be held in Reno, NV from June 15-19, 2014.

The ANS Fellow is the highest membership grade of the Society, and is reserved for senior members who have compiled a professional record of experience in making significant contributions to the advancement of nuclear science, engineering, and technology.
