California Health Officials Find ‘No Threat’ from Fukushima Radioactivity

Health officials in California announced that there is no public health risk in California due to radioactivity events related to Fukushima.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) announced that no new data or recent activity had elevated radioactivity on the California shore tied to the incident at Fukushima. Elevated levels of radiation discovered near Half Moon Bay were found to be caused by naturally occurring materials, not with radioactivity from Fukushima. The tests were conducted by both the San Mateo County Public Health Department and CDPH.
