Celebrate Nuclear Science Week, January 25-29, 2011

Nuclear science and technology play important roles in our everyday lives. To celebrate the many contributions, a special week, January 24-28, 2011, has been designated to focus on why nuclear science is important; the medical applications, and gauging, archaeological, research, and other uses. During the next few weeks we'll also explore the work and careers of engineers, scientists, technologists and others who work on nuclear science and engineering activities.

The American Nuclear Society will be posting information and resources on this web page to help you organize local activities to acknowledge the event. Take a moment to consider how you can collaborate with teachers, Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders, and others to experience Nuclear Science Week. Contact ANS Outreach Department for assistance.

The organizer of the event is the National Nuclear Museum located in Albuquerque, NM. This will be the second year for the annual event. Their web site contains many useful ideas and materials at Nuclear Science Week.

We look forward to an exciting, fun-filled week!
