New group to focus on nuclear production of hydrogen
La Grange Park, IL (August 9, 2006) - The American Nuclear Society has established a working group on the Nuclear Production of Hydrogen. The group was created under the Environmental Sciences Division (ESD) and will focus on building recognition of the importance of nuclear energy in the coming era of hydrogen fuel as a parallel carrier to electricity.
ESD has provided the technical forum for Nuclear Production of Hydrogen and now the working group will provide an official hydrogen identity for ANS. The group will help provide a link between ANS and other societies and organizations interested in hydrogen.
Membership in the Working Group is through membership in the ESD. People can join by going to www.ans.org. More information is available by going to the Division web page at www.ans.org/const/divisions.
