ANS races onto new ground

La Grange Park, IL  (May 22, 2006) - The American Nuclear Society steps up its visibility and steps onto the race track.  Blowing past onlookers in Monterey, Mexico was the Newman Wachs Racing Champ Car Atlantic team sporting the ANS logo right along with it.

Team Owners Paul Newman and Eddie Wachs placed the ANS logos on their cars because they strongly support and believe in nuclear energy.  Newman hopes to educate the public through motor sports involvement about nuclear science and technology.  This is the teams second free public service announcement.  The first was a quit smoking campaign.

The ANS circular logo was easily seen by thousands of race fans in attendance.  It was placed in not just one but six different areas on the car.  One of the most visible areas was near the drivers head.

The car raced in Mexico from May 19-21.  The race will be televised on Speed Channel on May 28 at 6 p.m. ET and will re-air on May 31 at 3 p.m. ET.
