Young Members Advancement Award

Established by the Young Members Group (YMG) in 2007, the award recognizes an individual or group that has made a significant contribution towards integrating young members into ANS as a whole. It is given to an individual or group that has increased membership or participation of young members, created leadership or experience opportunities for young members, trained or mentored young members, raised funding for young members, publicly supported the cause of young members, or taken other actions to get young members involved with ANS on a national level.

Special consideration is given to those whose actions have far-reaching effect, such as impacting large numbers of young members or setting a public example for young member outreach. Nominees need not be Young Members Group members, ANS members nor ANS-based organizations, but must be living at the time of selection.

Nominations must include the completed nomination form accompanied by the following supporting documents:

• A narrative summary of about 1,000 words detailing the qualities of the candidate, relevant accomplishments, and significance of achievements
• Additional letters of endorsement (no more than five)
• A brief chronological resume or history of the nominee
• And any relevant literature or other evidence that the candidate's actions have been outstanding are recommended, and will be considered as part of the overall application
