| Job Description: |
Fellows work within NNSA's Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation on programs designed to detect, prevent, and reverse the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, while mitigating the risks from nuclear operations. 12 to 14 month, full-time fellow program provides participants with specialized training and practical experience on projects and initiatives that contribute to a safer world. In addition to gaining valuable experience working with federal government programs, participants have opportunities to collaborate with the U.S. Department of Energy, other government agencies, national laboratories, and non-governmental organizations. |

| Qualifications: |
U.S. citizen eligible to obtain a DOE security clearance.
Graduate student with academic specialization in International Affairs, Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, Nuclear Engineering (applicants with combined skills in technical and policy fields are of particular interest).
Available for 12 to 14 month, full-time participation.
Career interest in nonproliferation and national security.
Demonstrated maturity, good judgment, self-motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Either currently enrolled in a Masters or Ph.D. program, or receiving same degree in 2007.
For foreign placements only, conversationally fluent in the foreign language consistent with host-country assignment; experience working or studying abroad preferred.
